There are many secrets and myths that surround Disneyland these days. While a number of them is far from truth, there really are some things about the famous theme park that most of us are unaware of. Here’s a list of chosen Disneyland secrets:

1. Mickey Mouse has never been seen in two places at the same time at Disneyland

2. Only Coca Cola’s soft drinks are sold at Disneyland. The theme park gets all the drinks for free and keeps all of the profits from their sales; in return they guarantee that not a single bottle of Pepsi is to be found anywhere around the park.

3. Walt Disney was a great fan of family values and so there is no alcohol sold in Disneyland. The only place where alcohol can be found is the famous Club 33, which is only open to private members

4. The waiting time for the Club 33 membership has been estimated at around five years; it costs $1000 annually, if you’re thinking of getting one, and the entry fees are also pretty high – ranging from $7500 to $20 000, depending on the membership type

5. If you go to Disneyland on your birthday you will be treated as a VIP. Just mention that it’s your birthday to one of the park’s City Hall employees and you will be given a special “Happy Birthday, Disneyland” badge. As you start your journey around the park, you’re likely to experience a number of surprises and special treatment from Disneyland’s employees.

6. Tom Sawyer Island has a Missouri zip code. It was annexed to the state of Missouri by the governor of California on the day Disneyland first opened.

7. The tunnels under Disneyland were once infested by rats. The park’s management came up with a simple but brilliant solution; cats were brought to the park to put an end to the infestation. It worked great!

8. The walkway that connects Disneyland with its sister park – Disney’s California Adventure – is made of thousands of pavers. For $150 you can get immortalized by having your name written on one of them!
